Spring is finally here! Well, it is according to the calendar. Mother Nature seems to be dragging her feet a little this year… The good thing is that we all will have another one of those U.P. badges to wear proudly, “I Survived the Winter Of 2013-2014!”
So, how do we get out of the winter blahs and get our spring started on time? I think spring is a state of mind. Get out and do something fun and new, after all spring is the time of new beginnings.
Just to show that I take my own advice, here is my “spring” activity. I am learning to dance. Not just any random movements, which is my normal. To be honest, I am not very good at that, but proper Latin Ballroom Dance? I chose this to help out an amazing cause here in the U.P. Christine Pesola and I were asked to be a part of the 2nd annual “Dancing with the Stars U.P. Style” So, now something new becomes something charitable as well. It’s off to dance classes for the two of us. We could use you help. Part of the competition involves the “Fan Favorite.” Please go to www.uphomehealth.org/DW and vote for us, while supporting a great cause. As a side note, I am really enjoying lessons as well. I am getting a work out, that’s a big deal for me. I am connecting with my heritage. We were given a Latin style dance that originated in Cuba. You will have to stay tuned to find out which one.
We are going with flavors of spring to help you get in the mood. Pina Colada will be our cake of the month, and Jim has created a Blood Orange Mango cheese cake that will make you feel sunny inside.
Wishing you some “Spring in your Steps,”
